What a summer we have had! It’s been five whole weeks of delivering inclusive fun to the SEND community of Solihull! We introduced our higher needs scheme this year, which allowed some of the participants who may struggle slightly with large audiences a quiet, 1:1 environment on Fridays! This meant that a lot more
children and young people had access to our services, no matter their ability.
We thought we would revisit all of the lovely things that we had on this summer, and to showcase what to expect when attending our half term activities.
Week One
We kicked off the summer with revising old friendships and saying hello to those we hadn’t seen in a while. We then paid a visit to the MAC theatre to see the new Garfield film, before finishing off the first week with a Gross Guts session with Fizz Pop, learning all about our digestive systems.
Week Two
The second week was where we got creative with music and drama, we celebrated international friendship day, took part in some team sports and enjoyed a trip out bowling.
Week Three
Our third week began with some police-themed activities, as well as lots of in-house fun with sports, dance, drama and karaoke as well as Inclusive Sports Got Talent. We also paid a trip to Sheldon Country Park, as well as an extra day of provision at the Solihull fun family day.
Week Four
Week four began with a Disney quiz, as well as lots of outdoor activities den building and making some delicious beverages with our smoothie bike. We took one of our favourite trips out to date to the seaside, as well as a visit from the animal lady who brought a wonderful array of furry friends for us to say hello to.
Week Five
We made the most of the good weather to round off our final week of camp with lots of outdoor fun doing some photography and bug hunting. We also had a visit from Fizz Pop who taught us about our DNA and personal profiles, before a trip to laser quest all rounded off with a summer party!
If you attended any of our summer provision and would like to have your say whether it is positive or negative, or any suggestions at all- please go on over to the HAF website to leave your thoughts and comments.
We would also be so grateful if you could take the time to leave us a review via our Google profile. We have a blog explaining the importance of these reviews, and it only takes a couple of minutes.
We would like to take a moment to thank Solihull Council for making this summer possible. Without your funding, our activities would never have happened. We, much like all of our participants are so eternally thankful and grateful for your generosity.
Another thank you to every member of staff who came along and helped us out, whether you worked every single shift, or just one, whether you were a volunteer or a project coordinator. We are so grateful for time, every single one of you are stars and we are so lucky to have you all part of our team.
And with that, summer is over. However, the fun isn’t!
Our term time bookings are now live right here. We have such a vast range of exciting and varied activities for you to get involved with, there is something for everyone! We hope to see you there, and if you have any questions at all, please reach out to eva@inclusivesportsacademy.org.
