Meet the Team 2.0

Well… it has been a while since we last did a Meet The Team post, so we thought we update you including our new members to our Inclusive Sports Family! Plus, you get to know some of us a little bit more. Here is our Inclusive Sports Family in a little more detail! First of all, we have Andy Warmington, the Director and Founder of Inclusive Sports Academy, which first started in 2015. Not only that, he is also the founder of Inclusive Support Hub and Inclusive Educate Ltd. In the last post, we know that Andy loves a good curry, and his favourite podcast is James English. This time round we have asked Andy... What is your favourite movie / film of all time? Shawshank Redemption If you had a warning label, what would it be and why? Tread Carefully on a Monday Morning What is your proudest achievement? Solihull Mayor Civic Honour for Services to Sport (Outside of my son) If you could just eat 1 meal forever, what would it be? Pizza He is the go-to person for anything about Inclusive Sports, if you would like to know more, email andy@inclusivesportsacademy.org. Next up we have Kat O’Donovan, joining Inclusive Sports back in April 2021 as our Project Manager for our Holiday Camps, most recently being our PA Co-Ordinator! In our last post we learned that she can talk for hours about the different flavours of gin (including the ginger variety!) and has a vast experience in the world of disability. This time, we asked Kat... Who do you think would be the best at karaoke out of the team, and what song do you think that they would pick? Ci - a Eurovision song”, Thanks Kat! (I knew you would say that!) Which celebrity would you like to meet at a coffee shop for a drink? Graham Norton If you had a warning label, what would it be and why? Be careful, as I may need a coffee before I wake up! If you were the Prime Minister of the UK, what law would you introduce first and why? Change the laws around paying for own care If you could travel back in time, what year would you go to? 1989 Kat’s is the person to go too for any PA & Holiday Camp enquires, for more information, email kat@inclusivesportsacademy.org. Next, its Caitlin Gray our Digital Marketing Manager who joined in May 2021, Caitlin is the person who creates our fortnightly blogs on our website (but, not this one as she has handed this blog post over to me! Thanks Caitlin!) & is in charge of all of our Social Media content, why not check our social media pages to see what we get up to! In the last post we learned that she has a passion of Rock Music and her dinner table of three famous people dead or alive would-be Dave Grohl, Scooby Doo & Alice Cooper. This time round, we asked Caitlin… If you could travel back in time, what year would you go back to? I would travel back to the mid-1980s. The music, fashion, movies, big hair- I love it all! If you could just eat one meal forever, what would it be? A Northern roast dinner with all the trimmings, in a pub in winter with a nice cold IPA. For dessert, my Mums homemade pavlova. I would also eat pickles or cheese with every single meal if I could. I’m the weirdo that everyone gives the gherkin to at McDonalds. Which celebrity would you like to meet at a coffee shop for a drink? I would absolutely love to sit down and have a chat and coffee with Stephen King. I just think he’s a genius and I would love to just get a glimpse into his mind. As far as having a laugh, someone like Motley Crue, Miley Cyrus, Dave Grohl or Joe Keery. What is 1 thing you have done, which you will never to again? I once went in a zombie themed VRU pod after having dinner and I was nearly sick all over myself and nearly had to get out. What is your favourite movie / film of all time? My favourite movie of all time is The Lost Boys, a good old cheesy 1980s Vampire horror with a great soundtrack. But I also love The Dirt, ET or The Goonies. What did you wanted to do as a job when you were a child? I really wanted to be like Indiana Jones, like an archaeologist . Absolutely no idea why. But then I saw Temple of Doom and I think that scene with all the bugs and monkey brains put me off. For Social Media & Marketing enquires, why not email caitlin@inclusivesportsacademy.org. Then we have me, Ci Brennan, Junior Content Producer Apprentice who started as an Intern from The Heart of Birmingham Vocational College in January 2021, followed by as an apprentice 7 months later. This time round it is me that is writing the post! Last time round, we learned that I love recording platform alterations at Birmingham New Street station (the most ever was 72 in 1 day!) and his biggest achievement is being the 1st ever staff member at ISA to have a disability. Making the office and the company more inclusive and being most popular with the other staff members with the “most likely” section of our last team blog post. You may have seen my face on our Social Media platforms and our website! (If you haven’t, you have missed a lot of things we have previously done!) This time round Ci was asked… What Football Team do you support? Aston Villa (But I also accept Liverpool as its the popular team in my household) If you could have someone hired to help you at home, who would it be and why? Probably a character from Holby City or Casualty (for first aid purposes) Chrissie Williams or Connie Beauchamp, definitely not Jac Naylor What only two Radio Stations would you listen to in the car? I have my own radio schedule so listening to different stations at a certain time, but if I had to choose 2 it would be RTE 2FM (an Irish Radio Station) & Radio 1 as I love the dance music they play on the stations”. (We would like to stress that all other Radio Stations across the UK and the world are available) What did you wanted to do as a job when you were a child? Train Dispatch at Birmingham New Street, I am 23 years old now (at the time of this blog) and still is my dream job to work there. If you could travel back in time, what year would you go back to? Probably back to 2006 so I can hear the hold music from Big Brother, when an automated system was in its place in the Diary Room and I loved the music they played whilst the Housemates were waiting. So, if it’s a general enquiry or feedback on this blog, you can contact ci@inclusivesportsacademy.org. Now, here are some of our newbies that have joined the team since the last time we did this post. First, we have Lucy Hancock, who joined us in July 2021 as part of the Holiday Camp team, now she is our resident sports coach who helps us run some of our projects during the week. Not only that, she also helps us with a number of different roles such as Business Admin in the office and PA work. Whilst completing her final year at uni at the same time! Now that is an achievement! We asked Lucy… What's are your main hobbies and interests outside of inclusive sports? Outside of inclusive sports I love to go shopping and for food! What is your proudest achievement? My proudest achievement is actually stepping out of my comfort zone within inclusive sports and dealing with different needs/abilities. Five years ago I wouldn’t of believed in myself but now I can’t imagine not doing this job, I love it so much and hope to make a career out of it! If you could just eat 1 meal forever, what would it be? If I could eat one meal everyday it would have to be a chicken madras curry, one of my favourite dishes that I never get sick of eating. What did you want to do as a job when you were a child? When I was younger, I wanted a be a police officer/paramedic. I’ve always had a passion for helping people, however as time has gone on, I’ve realised working with children is what I do best! I love seeing them progress and learn. However, a paramedic may still be on the cards within the future who knows ay! Next up is Claire Black, who is our project co-ordinator who joined Inclusive Sports in May 2022. Claire is in charge of our After School Term Time Projects that happens at the weekends and after school on weekdays. We asked Claire... What is your favourite joke? Why didn't the skeleton go to the disco? because he had noBODY to go with What 3 items would you take if stuck on a desert island? A Tent, unlimited McDonalds & a TV. If you were Prime Minister of the UK, what Law would you introduced first? SEN to be improved. What only two Radio Stations would you listen to in the car? It’s Mostly Radio 2 & Radio 1 If you could travel back in time, what year would you go back to? I would go back to the 90’s! If you would like to know more about our term time provision, email claire@inclusivesportsacademy.org. Finally, Eva Riddiford, our new apprentice that joined us in August 2022. Still currently finding her feet with Inclusive Sports, Eva helps us out in the office and on some projects throughout the week. She is the youngest member of the team, plus this is her first job since finishing college. We asked Eva… What Football Team do you support? Liverpool What only two Radio Stations would you listen to in the car? Kisstory & Capital Xtra Reloaded (Again, all other Radio Stations across the UK are available!) What is your favourite movie / film of all time? Pretty Woman What is your favourite Holiday of all time? Croatia If you were a superhero, what powers would you have? Be invisible and to go back in time So, there you go, our fantastic team! We hoped you have learned a bit more about us and liked this blog post. But we all have one thing in common… which is we all have a passion for inclusion and SEND!
